Why teach the Catechisms?

	Hi! I found this LONG article regarding catacchisms during an online search. It looks extremely interesting, I scanned it but have not read it in full yet. Has anyone here taken on the project of teaching their children a catechism? If so, why? I am thinking of having my kids memorize the Westminister Shorter Catechism with proofs. I don't know if this is too ambitious of an undertaking or not. I confess I also need to do some more research to make sure this catechism conforms with my doctrinal beliefs (non-denominational fundamentalist). Blessings, Susan Catechisms
