I had saved the following message from Andrea Chen to the CCSDigest at some point, maybe over a year ago (or more). I went to the web address given, and it did not come up. I searched "Singin' Smart" and got nothing. I am interested in these audio cassettes and want to know if any of you have any information on them. If you own them, is there a mailing address or phone number or anything on the cassette "slipcover"? Leave a message on here or email me with any information. Thanking you, Aimee Natal "The best source for chants/songs as memory aids are the Singin Smart tapes sold by "The Learning Home" (formerly Brightspark). E-mail requests for a catalog to learnghome@aol.com and look at a partial catalog listing at http://members.aol.com/learnghome/index.html There are 2 Singin Smart tapes selling for $11.00 each. The tunes are very catchy and clever. For example, the one on composers changes beat, tempo, rhythm etc mimicking that of the composer being sung about. The tapes are professionally produced and performed with quality music and children with excellent voices.. SINGIN' SMART 1 includes songs about: Three branches of government and the jobs, names/number of US presidents, states of the USA by region, state capitals, countries in Europe, planets of solar system, famous composers by era, 32 most well know bones, days/months & seasons, mealtime etiquette. SINGIN' SMART 2: 10 bodily systems, major muscles, Central/South American countries, countries of Africa, major mountains, Preamble to the Constitution, famous writers by era, inventors song, explorers, puns/homonyms, Dewey's decimals, 41 most common elements. If this isn't enough you get the a 32 page 8x11 booklet with the sheet music and accompany illustration for the children to follow and/or color. I'm not sure why these tapes aren't more well known, but everyone I've shared them with has run out and bought their own." |
